　モンゴルにある日馬富士学園の入学式に出席し、学校のスローガンに「世界水準の教育をモンゴルで」という言葉とともに元横綱日馬富士氏がモンゴルの子供の将来を思い守り育てている姿に感動しておりました。また、ウランバートルにある最後の君主、ボグド・ハーンの冬の離宮で見た大門の扉絵の護衛姿を見ているうちに日馬富士氏の姿が重なり、教育者として見守る姿を描いてみたくなりました。

I attended the entrance ceremony of Hima Fuji Academy in Mongolia and was impressed by the way former yokozuna Hima Fuji is protecting and nurturing Mongolian children for their future along with the school's slogan, "World-class education in Mongolia. I was also impressed by the image of Mr. Himafuji as I saw him escorting the door guard of the great gate at the winter residence of the last monarch, Bogd Khan, in Ulaanbaatar, and I wanted to draw his figure as an educator watching over the children.
