凍える月

作家のことば

　極北の地アラスカで一年間過ごした事があります。
　厳冬期、太陽が顔を見せるのは僅か数時間、氷点下四〇度、何もかもが凍えるような中にありました。庭の木さえ、白い衣を纏うように凍り付きました。
　神々しい姿は、初々しい花嫁を見るようで、美しかったです。

I once spent a year in Alaska, in the extreme north.
In the harsh winter season, the sun showed its face for only a few hours, the temperature was 40 degrees below zero, and everything was freezing. Even the trees in the garden were frozen in white robes.
The divine appearance was beautiful, like seeing a first-time bride.
