作家のことば

　大地、大気、生命、どれも地球で起こることに感動しています。大地の下は地層となって何億年もの時を積み重ね、過去に生きた命が眠りについています。現在も過去もこんなにも生命があふれている星は他にあるだろうか。この奇跡の地球、気象、自然の摂理、生命の営みを私は地球のドラマと呼びたいです。

I am impressed by the earth, the atmosphere, and life, all of which occur on earth. Underneath the earth is a geological formation, accumulating hundreds of millions of years of time, and the life that lived in the past is sleeping. Is there any other planet so full of life, both present and past? I would like to call this miracle of the earth, its weather, the order of nature, and the workings of life, the drama of the earth.
