作家のことば

　今、世界は対立と欲望文化と化し、この時こそ先人に学びたいと願います。黄鶴の謂れは、貧しくとも思いやりに満ちた辛(しん)おじいさんへのご褒美に仙人が蜜柑の皮で鶴の絵を描くとその鶴が舞い出したという説話にあります。村一番の長者となったおじいさんが感謝の心で建てた楼閣は、今も武漢に残るのです。この「美学」「哲学」「利学」の教えと共に、日中を超えて広く世界に黄鶴の舞風が吹き渡ることを念じつつ。

Today, the world has become a culture of conflict and desire. The story of the Yellow Crane is that a hermit painted a picture of a crane with citrus peels as a reward for poor but compassionate Grandpa Shin, and the crane flew into the sky. The tower built by the grandfather, who became the eldest man in the village, still remains in Wuhan today as a symbol of his gratitude. We hope that the teachings of "aesthetics," "philosophy," and "philology," together with the dancing winds of the yellow crane, will blow widely across the world, beyond Japan and China.
