作家のことば

　温暖化の影響か、花の咲くのが早くなった気がする。手入れもせずに放置していた草花も季節になると緑や花が美しく彩る。近年葉だけの鉢植えの牡丹に蕾が出てきた。以前より十日余り早く大きな花が…。牡丹のテーマは卒業したつもりでいたが、花を観ているうちに形にしたくなった。

Perhaps due to global warming, flowers seem to be blooming faster. Plants and flowers that have been neglected without any care are beautifully decorated with greenery and flowers in season. In recent years, buds have appeared on potted peonies that had only leaves. The flowers are bigger than before, more than 10 days earlier than before.... I thought I had graduated from the peony theme, but the more I looked at the flowers, the more I wanted to give them shape.
