玅明

作家のことば

　清朝呉蘭雪の詩を揮毫しました。明人倪元璐の筆意を得て、そこに少し新味を盛り込むべく制作に当たりました。文字の潤渇や大小線の肥痩など相反する要素を織り交ぜつつ強さを求め試みました。題名の「玅明」とは一点の曇りない心境との意です。そうなれば良かったのですが、ご覧のような結果です。更なる精進が必要です。

Poem by Wu Lanxue of the Qing Dynasty. I took the brush strokes of Ming Dynasty poet Ni Yuanlang and worked to add a little newness to them. I attempted to mix opposing elements such as the thirst of the characters and the fatness and thinness of the large and small lines, while also seeking strength. The title of the work, “Xingming,” refers to a cloudless state of mind. I wish I could have done so, but as you can see, the result was not as good as I had hoped. Further diligence is needed.
