作家のことば

　千載の時を超えて、柔らかい光を放つ李朝螺鈿の魅力を、この作品の素材としました。制作にあたっては、行間の白の明るさを引き立たせる黒を意識しながら、漢字と平仮名の調和を保ち、それぞれの造形が持つ粗密の変化を生かせるよう心がけました。

The charm of Yi Dynasty mother-of-pearl inlays, which emit soft light over a thousand lifetimes, was used as the material for this work. In creating this work, I tried to maintain the harmony of Chinese characters and hiragana while being conscious of the black color that accentuates the brightness of the white between the lines, and to make the most of the changes in the coarseness and density of each form.
