五色八重散椿

作家のことば

　五色八重散椿は名の通り白、紅、桃色、紅縦絞りの花が枝ごとに咲き分かれ、花弁が一枚一枚散り落ちるので、地面がピンクの絨毯を敷き詰めたようで、自然の不思議な情景に魅了され絵に描き残したく思い制作しました。

The "Goshiki Yaechiri Tsubaki" (Five-Color Double-Flowered Dropping Camellia) lives up to its name, with flowers of white, crimson, pink, and crimson stripes blooming separately on each branch. Since the petals fall one by one, the ground is covered as if with a pink carpet. I was fascinated by this wondrous natural scene and created this piece, wanting to capture it in a painting.
