作家のことば

　伊勢神宮内宮には美しく剪定された様々な姿の松があります。青年期のすんなりとした松。壮年期のくねりながら扇を拡げたような堂々とした松。そんな中で大きな岩に張り付くように据えられた若松を見つけ、これらの松を構成することで新味の松が表現できないかと、また栄えてゆく様を象徴したいとも思いました。

There are various forms of beautifully pruned pine trees at the Inner Shrine of Ise Grand Shrine (Ise Jingū Naiku). The sleek pines of youth. The stately pines of maturity, twisted and spreading out like a fan. Among these, I found a young pine clinging to a large rock. I wondered if I could express a new kind of pine by composing these elements, and I also wanted to symbolize the growth and prosperity of life.
