作家のことば

　暑さでうなだれているのか、結実し始め重いのか、晩夏にひまわりが儚げに俯いている。ひまわりは正面が描かれることが多いが、横顔もまた美しい。そして、ひまわりの花が俯いている時も葉はいつでも日を向いている。
　刻一刻と変化するひまわりの光景と共に蝶が訪れては去ってゆく一瞬の輝きを画面に捉えたく思った。

In late summer, the sunflower droops fleetingly, perhaps wilted by the heat or heavy from the start of fruiting. Sunflowers are often depicted facing forward, but their profile is also beautiful. And even when the sunflower head droops, the leaves always face the sun.
I wanted to capture on the canvas the momentary brilliance of a butterfly visiting and then leaving, along with the constantly changing scene of the sunflower.
