　六月から十一月まで長く咲くダリアですが、十一月になると枯れたものや腐って倒れたもの、まだまだ勢いのあるものと、様々なダリアを見ることができました。優雅な姿と枯れていく姿と対照的なダリアを取材していると、夏の出来事と移り行く季節の情景を描きたくなり、制作してみました。

Dahlias bloom for a long time, from June to November, and in November, I was able to see various states: withered ones, rotten ones that had fallen over, and those that were still vigorous. While studying these contrasting dahlias—their elegant form versus their withering state—I was inspired to paint the events of summer and the changing scenery of the passing season, and so I created this work.
