赤い鉄骨

作家のことば

　大阪梅田の開発現場。
　おそらく高層のビルが建つであろう現場は、地下に深い穴が開けられている。そこには、まるで巨人の肋骨のような赤い鉄骨が横たわっていた。その赤い色に魅せられた。
　ショベルカー達やたくさんの建築資材、働く人たちが巨人を囲んでワイワイ楽しく仕事に励んでいる。
　そんな様子を夢中で写生した。

The development site in Umeda, Osaka.
A deep hole has been dug underground at the site where a high-rise building will likely be constructed. Lying there were red steel frames, like the ribs of a giant. I was captivated by that red color.
Excavators, a lot of construction materials, and workers were cheerfully and busily working around the giant.
I enthusiastically sketched that scene.
