私の住む彦根は琵琶湖の東岸に位置し、歴史のある城下町であるとともに、学生の街でもあります。市内には三つの大学があり、留学生も学んでいます。学業やバイトに取り組みながら自分の夢を追い求めて行く姿に心を打たれます。小李（しゃおり）とは留学生の李さんに対して、親しみを込めて呼ぶときの言い方です。

Hikone, where I live, is located on the east shore of Lake Biwa. It is a historic castle town and also a city of students. There are three universities in the city, and international students also study here. I am moved by the sight of them pursuing their own dreams while working on their studies and part-time jobs. Shaori (Little Li) is an affectionate way of addressing the international student, Ms. Li.
