鳥居“Ｍ”

作家のことば

　朝霧の田畑の奥に建つ鳥居の形に、いつしか心惹かれて制作テーマにした。神社の神域と俗界を区切る「門」の役目であるが、鳥居の単純な構造の美しさと意義を感じて、私の鳥居を創作しています。線と面を組み合わせた造形の面白さを簡素化した形で表現しており、素材には、無機質であり存在感のある鉄を使用している。

I became captivated by the shape of the *torii* (shrine gate) standing deep in the field behind the morning mist, and made it my creative theme. It serves as a "gate" separating the sacred precincts of the shrine from the secular world, and feeling the beauty and significance of the *torii*'s simple structure, I create my own interpretations of the *torii*. I express the interesting combination of lines and surfaces in a simplified form, using iron as the material for its inorganic nature and presence.
