夢に向かって

作家のことば

　木彫刻の職業を選んだ時から、日展入選が夢でした。一年の締めくくりの作品に自分の思いを込めました。もう五十年の月日が過ぎましたが、今でも昨年より良い作品を作りたいとの思いで制作に向かえる事が大変な喜びで幸福です。
　欅材で形を彫り出し、拭き漆で表面に光を出しました。

Since choosing the profession of wood carving, my dream has been to be selected for the Nitten exhibition. I put my feelings into this work, which marks the culmination of the year. Fifty years have passed, but I am still very happy and fortunate that I can approach creation with the desire to make a better work than last year's.
I carved the shape from zelkova wood and brought out the shine on the surface with wipe-lacquer (*fuki-urushi*).
