作家のことば

　夏の壱岐の海を取材した。島の海壁に打ちつける波は時には「静」に、時には荒々しく「動」と「静」の繰り返しの様は、人の鼓動にも似た動きを見せてくれる。海の深い青い潮を染でもって出来得る限りの表現をしてみた。どこまでも追いつけない海の深さは、得も言われぬ潮の美を我々に見せてくれる。染と自然美の調和を求めて制作した。

I researched the sea of Iki in summer. The waves crashing against the island's sea wall sometimes show "stillness" and sometimes a rough "motion," demonstrating a repetition of "motion" and "stillness" that resembles a human heartbeat. I attempted to express the deep blue tide of the sea as much as possible using dyeing. The unreachable depth of the sea shows us an ineffable beauty of the tide. I created this seeking harmony between dyeing and natural beauty.
