作家のことば

　古代人が残した造形、ゆかしい心を感じる土人形のルーツ・ハニワに心魅せられ現代のハニワと呼ばれるような作品を目指し、毎日制作しております。
　今回は武人の姿にてゆったりとした作品に仕上げてみました。
　素材はテラコッタで、約一〇〇〇度の焼成、金箔やプラチナ箔で加飾しました。

I am fascinated by the forms left by ancient people, the profound feeling of *haniwa* (clay figures) which are the roots of clay dolls, and I work daily aiming to create pieces that can be called modern *haniwa*.
This time, I finished the work in the figure of a warrior with a relaxed feel.
The material is terracotta, fired at about 1,000 degrees, and decorated with gold and platinum leaf.
