象嵌彩　晩秋の夕景

晩秋の夕刻に雑木林に佇むエナガをモチーフに、寂しさが漂う季節の夕暮れ時の情景を象嵌技法で表現しました。象嵌技法とは、文様を線や面で彫り込み、その部分に種々の色土を埋めて表現する装飾技法で、焼成は、夕刻の空気感が伝わるように焼成方法、時間、回数など工夫を重ねて焼き上げました。

Using the long-tailed tit (*enaga*) standing in a thicket in the late autumn evening as a motif, I expressed the lonely scene of twilight in that season using the *zōgan* (inlay) technique. The *zōgan* technique involves carving patterns with lines or surfaces and filling those parts with various colored clays. I refined the firing method, time, and frequency to convey the atmosphere of the evening, and then fired the piece.
