沈石田 落花詩

作家のことば

　沈石田（明代）七十八歳の詩。冒頭に「飄々蕩々復悠々」とある。この詩を発見したのは奇しくも私が七十八歳の時。この心境にあこがれて、折にふれ挑戦してきたが、全詩を揮毫したのは初。
　卒寿を迎えた我が書道人生の指標として、今後も挑戦しつづけるであろう。朝六時、旭日を拝して後揮毫。

A poem by Shen Shitian (*Min* dynasty), written at age 78. It begins with the line, "Fluttering, drifting, and then leisurely" (*Piaopiao Dangdang Fu Youyou*). Coincidentally, I discovered this poem when I was 78. Yearning for this state of mind, I have challenged it occasionally, but this is the first time I have inscribed the entire poem.
I will continue to challenge it as a benchmark for my calligraphic life, now that I have reached the age of 90. I inscribed it after greeting the rising sun at six in the morning.
