蓬萊（長谷川櫂の句）

作家のことば

　「蓬萊」とは神に捧げる正月飾りのこと。「淡海」とは琵琶湖のこと。「浪の音」を聞きながら、正月の酒を味わうという長谷川櫂氏の俳句。豊かな空間の広がりを楽しみながら、墨量の潤渇などの変化を遊んでみた。

*Hōrai* (蓬萊) is a New Year's decoration offered to the gods. "*Ōmi*" (淡海) refers to Lake Biwa. This *haiku* by Kai Hasegawa describes savoring New Year's sake while listening to the "sound of the waves." I enjoyed the breadth of the rich space, playing with changes in the wetness and dryness of the ink volume.
