作家のことば

　西行のうたを素材とした作品を書きつづけている。山家心中集のテキストを出発点とし、単純平明な文字遣いを心掛け、爽やかで力強い作品をと念じて筆を進めた。静かな風景から始まり、作品半ばから上昇に転じ、最後に上り詰めて終わる、そんな一つの風景が浮かび上がればいいなあと願った。

I continue to write works based on Saigyō's poems. Starting with the text from *Sanka Shinju Shu* (Collection of Poems on Mountain Life), I focused on simple and plain use of characters, advancing the brush with the intent of creating a refreshing and powerful work. I hoped to evoke a single scene, starting with a quiet landscape, turning to an ascent halfway through the piece, and finally culminating at the end.
