牧水の歌

　本年は、若山牧水生誕百四十周年である。これを記念して伊藤一彦先生が『若山牧水全歌集』を出版された。牧水の遺した歌は、従来八千八百首とされていたが、先生は九千六百首とされた。その中で酒を詠んだ歌は、三百六十七首を数える。まさに酒仙とも酒聖ともいわれる所以である。本作は、旅と共に酒を愛した牧水を想い浮かべながら制作した。

This year marks the 140th anniversary of the birth of Bokusui Wakayama. In commemoration, Professor Kazuhiko Itō published his *Complete Collection of Bokusui Wakayama's Tanka*. The poems left by Bokusui were traditionally believed to be 8,800, but the professor newly established the count at 9,600. Among these, the poems about sake number 367. This is the reason he is called both a *shusen* (sake hermit) and a *shusei* (sake saint). This work was created while thinking of Bokusui, who loved sake alongside travel.
