紹絶立廢

作家のことば

　戦国時代の齊国、燕国の陶文を素材とした。「紹」の形を見せ場として、糸束形のリフレイン効果を意識しながら四字を調和させた。
　字形は戦国古璽と同趣で、界格の様式もこれに倣い、中央にも界線を設けて全体を引き締めた。

The material is pottery inscriptions (*tōbun*) from the Qi and Yan states during the Warring States period. I made the form of "紹" the highlight, harmonizing the four characters while conscious of the refrain effect of the thread bundle shape (*itosokkei*).
The character forms are similar in spirit to the ancient seals of the Warring States period, and I followed their boundary-frame style, adding a boundary line in the center to tighten the whole.
