業平の歌

作家のことば

　『伊勢物語』より、在原業平の歌を四首選び、初めて縦作品に挑戦してみました。赤の紙に負けないよう、墨は濃墨にし、縦への流れに留意し、行間、文字の大小の調和等を考慮して書作いたしましたが思うようにまとまらず、実力不足を痛感しております。

I selected four poems by Ariwara no Narihira from the *Ise Monogatari* (Tales of Ise) and challenged a vertical work for the first time. To not be defeated by the red paper, I used dark ink, and wrote with attention to the vertical flow, considering the harmony of line spacing and character size/smallness, but it did not come together as intended, and I keenly feel my lack of skill.
