作家のことば

　日展には毎年同じサイズの紙に同じ形式の作品を書いて出品している。だが実はここには深い願いが存在する。もっとも、私自身の微々たる技量の向上もあるかもしれないが、その何倍もの理想に近付きたいという強い思いがある。坂村真民の言葉「念ずれば花ひらく」の精神で、きょうも紙に向かいながら今の私の持てる全てを出す。

Every year, I submit a work of the same size and format to the Nitten exhibition. But there is a deep desire underlying this. Although there may be a slight improvement in my modest skills, I have a much stronger desire to approach the ideal, which is many times greater. With the spirit of Shinmin Sakamura's words, "If you concentrate your mind, flowers will bloom," I face the paper today, giving everything I have now.
