作家のことば

　万葉集より和歌三首を題材とし、扇面の形にした紙を使用した大字仮名作品。
　太古の鳥たちも、今と同じような鳴き声であったのだろうかと色々想像しながら、その情景を思いうかべ、無理のない形や線で自然な流れと爽やかさを求めて制作いたしました。

A large-character *kana* work using three *waka* poems from the *Manyoshu* as the subject, written on paper shaped like a fan. While it is a large-character *kana* work, I strived to express the rich emotion inherent in the original line of *kana*. I also strongly focused on the presence of the white space (*yohaku*), which is the charm of *kana* calligraphy, aiming for an expression of *kana* writing that has both a generous atmosphere and a sense of refreshing clarity.
