　濃茶の紙に百人一首を二十二首。濃茶は土や命、また心の深さや静けさを象徴。そこに関戸を基に、和歌のリズムや響きに呼応するように行には流れをもたせ、紙全体には横への広がりを意識し、前半から後半まで筆の勢いや余白の取り方に変化をつけ、視線が自然と動くように工夫しました。

I used dark brown paper to inscribe twenty-two poems from the *Hyakunin Isshu* (One Hundred Poets, One Poem Each). Dark brown symbolizes earth and life, as well as the depth and stillness of the heart. Based on the *Sekido* (a classic *kana* text), I gave the lines flow to correspond with the rhythm and resonance of the *waka* poems, and was conscious of the horizontal expanse across the entire paper. I varied the force of the brush and the open space (*yohaku*) from the first half to the latter half, ingeniously guiding the viewer's eye.
