曹植「箜篌引」の「齊瑟和且柔」に見える語。斉の瑟の音色が調和して、穏やかで柔らかいことをいう。そこから、他と調和しながらも、しなやかで柔らかな心を保つ姿を重ねた。三字の大小と疎密に変化をつけ、文字造形の中に「和」と「柔」の趣を求めた。
