西周早期の金文を素材とした。腰を高く構え、二字を穿挿させて緊密に。力を印面中央に集めて鋭さと逞しさを表現した。「聞」の人体形頭部と耳の直線を効かせ、「獨」は犬の脚を強く下垂させて空間を引き締めた。「獨」の虫形と「聞」の脚に曲を加えて呼応させ、アクセントとしてみた。
